NEBO - Smart Phone Logbook

For this season, I have been trying out NEBO. For as much as I try, I am terrible of keeping a written logbook that was interesting and accurate. Probably because I have too much fun sailing, or I can't find a pen, or everything's wet, or some other lame excuse.

So, NEBO comes into play. Before I cast off, I inform the app that the voyage has begun, and list my crew, The app then takes charge, logging weather data, position, and speed. When I finish, I save the trip, and NEBO sends me a log entry that I can access, print out, and share.

The first page summarizes the track of my voyage. I had a lovely sail tacking towards the north and then a gentle run back.

Along the way, I can take pictures on my device. After NEBO saves the voyage, I can add any picture to the log and NEBO reads the timestamp on the picture and associates it with the appropriate voyage. Captioning the pictures helps remind me what was going on at the time.

NEBO summarizes the voyage at the end incorporating the comments and the pictures. My only issue is that NEBO believes our marina is Swantown Boatworks. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I will figure it out eventually.

At least I don't have to keep a working pen on board.
