Torrential rain and wind descended upon the parade, but did that dampen anyone's spirits? Of course not! These seafarers were made of sturdier stuff than that. In fact, they were positively consumed by the rain and wind. It was as if they were welcoming it with open arms, grinning from ear to ear.
But that's just how it is when you're a seafarer, isn't it? You don't shy away from a little bad weather. You face it head-on, with a hearty laugh and a twinkle in your eye. And that's exactly what the Oro Bay Yacht Club did. They may have been soaked to the bone, but they were having a blast.
And the best part? Next year, the club will have its very own boat float in the parade. That's right, they're taking things up a notch. So keep an eye out, landlubbers, because the Tacoma Yacht Club is setting sail for an even bigger adventure next year.
In the meantime, though, let's raise a glass (or a mug of hot cocoa) to these intrepid sailors and their indomitable spirit. They may have been battered by the storm, but they came out smiling. Because that's what seafaring is all about – weathering the storm and enjoying the ride.
